FAQ's For Home Hairdressing Services
Do I really need a skin test and colour consultation?
Yes. It is necessary for ALL new clients who require a technical service to receive a skin test at least 48 hours prior to their main appointment. This is designed to keep you safe and avoid any allergic reactions to products used during your service. There is a £20.00 consultation fee, however this is deducted from your main appointment total upon completion of your services.
What do I need for a Home Hairdressing Appointment?
Very little is needed for your appointment as Lucy Grace provides all the products, cutting and styling equipment needed to carry out your treatments. All you need to provide is a comfortable, low backed chair you're happy to sit in, an old towel, access to a power point and enough space for Lucy Grace to comfortably move around you.
Do I need to wash my hair before my Home Hairdressing Appointment?
No, Lucy Grace doesn't need you to wash your hair prior to your appointment as it is much better to see it dry and as you wear it from day to day. And you shall be washing it after a technical service and prior to a cut and/or blow dry anyway, so don't worry and save your shampoo!
How should I pay for my services?
Payments for services can be made via cash, Paypal or Bank Transfer. If you require a receipt, then please do ask Lucy Grace as you make your payment.
Does Lucy Grace come to my home or do I go to her?
Whichever works best for you. Lucy Grace is based mainly as a mobile stylist but does have a home salon that you can escape to for a bit of peace and quiet should you wish to.
What products do you use?
Lucy Grace has tried and tested many colour brands within her years as a stylist, but one has always been a leading favourite: MATRIX . Their colours are long lasting, nourishing, excellent for covering grey and the range of colours available is amazing! For styling, Lucy Grace uses a vast range of different products to finish and perfect her work, including brands such as L'Oreal, Osmo, MATRIX, Schwarzkopf, Goldwell and many more.
I don't have free parking outside my house, do I need to let Lucy Grace know?
Yes please! It helps to be prepared and to plan ahead, especially for timings. For more about parking, please read our Terms and Conditions page.
How long does it take to have my hair done?
This is completely dependant upon which services you book in for and other factors such as your hair length and thickness, if it is just yourself having treatments or more people from your household, if you need to tend to children or phone calls or any other pressing matters that should arise. Lucy Grace likes to assign extra time to appointments wherever it can be foreseen that time is needed so don't hesitate to say that you may need to tend to your baby, or sit with your phone or lap top in case that work call comes in.
Can I add someone from my household onto my booking?
Yes of course, as long as you give Lucy Grace as much notice as possible so that she can ensure enough time is given for the appointment. The more the merrier! Just communicate it either upon your initial booking enquiry or at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment for the highest probability of it being possible.
